“And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free…”

Oh, just fucking shut up, Mr. Greenwood.

Today, the Supreme Court nullified Roe v. Wade. Overturned it. Made 51% of this nation second-class citizens, reversed the clock back to back ally’s and will adversely affect women of color, poor and without the means to travel. In roughly half the country, as of 10 AM this morning, abortion became illegal. No exceptions for rape, incest, or the life of the mother.

What is equally stupefying is the Court’s seeming willingness to be open to overturning Griswold v. Connecticut (the right to contraception) and marriage equality (along with same sex relationships) in Obergefell v. Hobbs and Lawrence v. Texas.

Stupefying, but not surprising. Associate Justice Clarence Thomas, in a concurring opinion, stated that, in overturning Roe, that those cases should be reconsidered as well.

"In future cases, we should reconsider all of this Court’s substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell. Because any substantive due process decision is “demonstrably erroneous,” we have a duty to “correct the error” established in those precedents,” per ABC News.

“After overruling these demonstrably erroneous decisions, the question would remain whether other constitutional provisions guarantee the myriad rights that our substantive due process cases have generated.”
