As much as I had hoped the ‘Geritol Set’ (i.e. Biden, Warren and Sanders) would have stayed on the sidelines for this one, they didn’t. However, they did. Sanders would be 79, 13 months younger than my step-mother, if he were to be elected next November. More than anything, what we need is someone who is a bridge — maybe the last Boomer (or, in the case of Biden or Bernie, a War baby)- who would serve a term, quietly, and then let a younger person come in and push the country in a new direction.

My early support for Ms. Kolbuchar has waned. I am currently in the “no preference/Anyone but That Asshole category” at the moment. If we are to beat El Shithead of Mar-A-Lago, we can’t allow the Perfect to be our guide. We cannot allow the Susan Sarandon’s to lead a ‘Bernie or bust,’ crowd, like in 2016. If we do, the Madness continues and I just don’t see a retreat from that.

As you say, there is no return to normal or going back to ‘the Obama years,’ but we can’t lurch from one extreme to another. The Fifth Avenue Phony is a pretend populist with a sinister agenda that has proven to be a disaster. He must be voted out in 559 days.
