I highlighted that because as a man with Cerebral Palsy, I am 'perceived' in such a way that I have had to fight against my whole life. Except for those who've known me my whole life or people who know me, my 'looks' are what people see and what they see is my wheelchair. Maybe they see the person in the chair only after they realize there's more to me than just the chair.
If people actually read the article, they would find her very down-to-earth and funny. I know people her age, including my nephew, and if they had a quarter of the drive and intellect she possesses, we might be in a better place.
