I would love to find the person responsible for the term “best friend and soul mate,” and punch their mouth. The last person to call me that broke my heart, 14 years ago. I don’t think you ever recover from someone who promises you everything and then marries someone else. It is a terrible feeling and never goes away. I am glad you and your husband worked things out. A child with a disability isn’t easy to deal with (I know, I was one). I am 61 in 10 days and am still here in spite of everything.
