Impressive and fantastic recall. "To serve and protect,'' has been replaced by ticket-ratios and arrest counts. If his name would have been Ray Brooks and white, the police would have tapped on his window, woken him up and he wouldn't have been rustled out of his car and then the rest. I went from third grade until college without a black classmate. We had one black school in our athletic conference in high school. Being disabled, I have faced bigotry and discrimination, racism's kissing cousins. I never understood why people treat others differently, they just do. Today, people act like everything's a video game. It's not.
