Interesting. Eighty does seem to be the magic number. However, life expectancy has been dropping the last 30 years, especially in the U.S. Opioids, suicides, alcholicism, a declining standard of living, income inequality, medical care, all have contributed to this. My grandfather lived to be 94, I have friends who's parents are 90+, my mother is 85. My dad died at 86, step-parents don't count. I'm 63 with a lifelong disability. My 'Beatles Birthday' ("Will you still need me/will you still need me/when I'm 64?") is in October. I would still have 30 years to go to get to my grandfather. I'm relatively healthy at the moment. I don't smoke or drink, outside of the occasional beer to keep me regular.
