Jane Meyer’s book, ‘Dark Money,’ mentions the Columbia University uprising as the beginnings of what we now have — a few, with power (and money) dictating policy and influence. The ‘New Liberals’ are now in their 60’s and 70’s and, with few exceptions, gave up in about 1990. Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin et. al. are gone. Noam Chomsky is 90. He might be the last of the “New Liberals” still with us.
