Jessica, you seem to want to piss off all the right people. Matthews is annoying and cloying for sure. Surprised you didn’t mention the eternally clueless Chuck Todd as well. MSNBC fired Cnek Uygur, Martin Bashir, and Ed Schultz (rest in hell, you two-faced jerk) for making sexist remarks and they botched the Harvey Weinstein story. Yet they have Stephanie Ruhle, Katy Tur, Kasie Hunt, Hallie Jackson, Joy Reid, Kristen Welker and Andrea Mitchell.

Yes, the network has problems and letting Matthews and Todd go would be a step in the right direction. However, who do you put at the 7 PM hour and to do Meet the Press? Matthews has to have something on Andy Lack or Phil Griffin to keep his job. Tur and Hunt have toddlers at home so they would be a great replacement for The Caretaker at The Overlook, but who replaces Matthews? Notice he was absent from Saturday’s SC Primary coverage, so that might be a hint.
