My dad, by the time you read this, in all likelihood, will be dead. The facility where he's been for the past nine years-plus stopped his meds, fluids and food Saturday. He has been mute and paralyzed for the longest time. The last lucid conversation I had with him was probably right after he was admitted to hospital in the fall of 2011. Because of the pandemic, I haven't seen him since November 20, 2019. He's in Canada and I'm in the US.

Alzheimer's takes it's sweet time in ruining you. It just is insidious and mercurous. It turns people into mush. It is estimated that between 60-80% of people over 65 will be afflicted with it. Some is genetic, some from self-abuse, others just from the natural aging process. Either way, it stinks.
