Yesterday, as I watched the funeral of John Lewis and the eulogies delivered by everyone from George Bush to a 91-year-old firebrand named Reverend James Lawson, who taught a young Lewis and others 60+ years ago, the Gandhian nonviolence satyagraha method of protest, which ended with another former President getting down and dirty.

Barack Obama calms my soul. He makes me smile. No other President in my lifetime, sans John F. Kennedy, has spoken words so eloquently than him. None. Granted, I was just a tyke when Kennedy was President, but it seemed that every speech I heard was soaring, from his inaugural “Ask not…” to his speech about the commonality we all have… “And we are all mortal.”

On the day before the Clown Prince of Queens became President and began his reign of stupidity and fear, a mere 1290 days ago, Charles Pierce of Esquire Politics, gave both a preview of what we have endured since Jan. 20, 2017 and a recap of the previous eight.

Being interviewed by the Washington Post, he boasted of his re-election slogan even before he was sworn-in, in his typical manner.
