OnlyFans (and others) Attempt to Go Straight

OK, confession time. I own porn. I watch it, enjoy it (well, most of it) and follow some performers on Twitter — or used to. There are three things that will be on most men’s computers when they die. Unopened emails, bank and credit card statements and porn.

The last time I had full-on sex was eight years ago. In Germany. The last time I had sex of any kind was three years ago in a hotel. The last time I had sex with someone who I loved? A long time ago.

The explosion, in such a way, over the past 15 years of pornography for the masses has to do with our increasing isolation and aging boomer population. Pornhub, XVideos, Steamsex, RedTube, YouPorn and a host of other sites offer clips and full-length videos of sex and more sex.

The problem is, it’s free. That means the performers aren’t seeing a dime. There are other sites where you can buy it, where ‘independent’ producers and performers get direct sales from you buying a scene or clip.

If you take out sexual content from a site that is there for sex, what is left? Just a bunch of young women (and men) wishing they had done something else with their lives.
