People who cheer the 'Never Trumpers,' like Steve Schmidt, Rick Wilson, Tim Miller ("Why We Did It") and George F-ing Will, forget these same people were on the front lines of where we are now - on the precipice of losing our country. Schmidt gave us the invaluable gift (or grift, take your pick) of Sarah Palin, Princess Dumbass of the Northwoods, who might be a newly elected congressperson by the end of the week. Will, who famously said, on election night, 1980, "they finally finished counting the votes, Goldwater won." No, George, a slicker, more benign version of hard-ass Barry won. That's when it all started to fall apart. Tuesday, we'll see if the dominoes continue to come down or whether our tenuous hold on the union, hanging on by a thread, is still there.
