"Substack isn't a neutral platform." No, it's not. Neither is Medium or WordPress or any other blogging site. Heather Cox Richardson and Barry Friedman are on there, as well as Jessica Valenti. I am not. Barry has been trying to convince me to try it. I might. Writers write. That's what we do. The problem I have with these blogging sites is that you put in hours, days, weeks, sometimes months into writing something and pay a fee (five bucks a month) and get, usually, pennies back. Somebody's making money somewhere. Just not us.
