The facts are interesting. In my generation, we had four males, Tom, Joe, myself and Chris. Of the four of us, only my brother, Chris, had kids. Tom died, Joe is gay and I’m disabled (I was a kinda step-father twice). My sister and I never married or had kids. The last serious relationship I had with a woman of child-bearing age was a decade ago. She ended up marrying someone else and had three kids. I don’t regret not having kids nor marrying. Plus, having one now would be impractical. I’m 60, almost 61. So, like how would I support a child financially? Plus, my biological urges aren’t the same as they were even 10 years ago. I hear from my friends about their kids and grandkids and yes, it’s a mixed bag. So, much like the author, I think, even sub-consciously, my decision to not have kids was the correct choice.
