The first time I ever heard the term "Anorexia Nervosa" was as a Freshman in college in 1978. A fellow student on the school newspaper talked about her sister, who had it. She would refuse to eat anything to the point where she was put in a psychiatric institution. I knew girls like that from Junior High and High School. I saw one a few years ago at a reunion. She looked so thin, still. At 60/61 years old. After two kids as well.

You mentioned The Partridge Family. Susan Dey had an eating disorder as well. She at northing but carrots for every meal in order to stay thin. Her skin actually turned orange.
