Truman was a mean, little man. A supposedly 'true' story I've head from a friend. When Carson was still doing his show in New York, still 90-minutes, the 'back-end, last-30' guest list would always include Capote and Tallulah Bankhead. Well, according to my friend, one night Truman tossed his Scotch while taping and he was banned from the show for years. It also was the impetus for Johnny to move the show to 'beautiful downtown Burbank.'
