Unnecessary Drama and Pettiness
This all could have been avoided.
Yes.
These ‘man-made cliffhangers’ could have been avoided had the GOTP (which now stands for the Grand Old Trump Party) said, yes, lets count the absentee ballots as they arrive instead of putting them in cold storage until Tuesday night. The ‘Red Mirage’ was real. This was about voter suppression. My vote was in EXACTLY four weeks ago today (October 8), yet sat in my clerk’s office for 27 days. Florida, for all the stupid things they do down there, did it that way and their vote was finished by 10:45 on Election night. Instead, we’re back in college, on speed, no sleep and eating a $50 pizza from DoorDash, watching Kornacki and his Khakis (sounds like a 60s one-hit wonder band) and a cast of thousands (including a new batch of Katy Tur’s and Katy Tur) telling us to be patient. As someone said last week, it’s either going to be a short night or a long month. I’d settle for some common sense and seven hours of sleep.
This wasn’t the wipe-out repudiation that some predicted and others were hoping for, but maybe a chance, albeit a small one, to step back from the abyss and start to rehab our nation.
