"Who signed the letter in Harper’s is just as important as what’s written in it."

Well, yes. But you cherry-picked out those you found to be objectionable with your agenda (whatever your agenda is). There are plenty of people who signed that letter who I have agreed and disagreed with over the years. You would never find me reading David Brooks or Bari Weiss, who both write for the New York Times. Brooks is an insufferable twit and Weiss an attention-seeker. Both play the bothsiderism card too often.

You failed to mention Meghan Daum, who writes for this publication, or Gerald Early, Salman Rushdie, David Frum (who's mother spins in her grave everytime he opens his mouth, or types word one one his keyboard), Cynthia Tucker, Matthew Karp, Gloria Steinem, Garry Willis (formerly of Esquire) and a host of others.

In going after the people for their perceived offenses, you miss the point of the letter, which is to point out that 'cancel culture' isn't just cries of 'fake news' from the vulgar talking yam and his sycophants, it can come from anyone at anytime. Hell, I've been canceled so many times, I've lost count. We are at a turning point, not only is this country, but on planet Earth and how we respond to it is imperative to any future we face.
