Yes, Andrew, we've read/heard this before. I call it the United States of Yugoslavia.

Myself, I could see it happening, but Michigan, where I live, joining with states like Ohio, Indiana and the Dakotas? No. I could see Michigan becoming a province of Canada before that would happen. We just codified abortion in this state, while every other state around us except Illinois still has archaic rules dating back to pre-Civil War about banning abortion.

Plus, you're not taking in Climate Change and migration into account, either. People are buying up land in places you wouldn't suspect. Montana, Wisconsin, etc. Also, the affect of water depletion in California, Nevada and Arizona. Lake Meade is at its lowest level since the 1940's. De-saltification is decades away and we'll be dead before that happens.

Your vision is an urban-centric view of things. What about those living in eastern Oregon and Washington who want to become part of Idaho? Or the 'Seven California's' proposal that won't die? I have a friend who lives in Redding and he told me that the town nixed a plan a few years back to honor town native Megan Rapinoe because she is a lesbian and opposes TFG.
