Yes! Flush and company came well before Jones. In the 'Daily 202' newsletter, it was noted "On this day in 1987, the Federal Communications Commission voted 4-0 to abolish the Fairness Doctrine, which required television and radio broadcasters to provide balanced coverage of controversial issues of community importance."

Which opened the Gates of Shit spewing from the gutter. Who knew that those of us who remember would yearn for the days of Paul Harvey.
