You forgot a few facts: Carlson is a millionaire, thanks to his being an heir to the Swanson Frozen-Food brand. He has no journalism experience, nor does many of the Faux News hosts or hate radio gabbers. His audience is three times that of Chris Hayes’ and yet, he somehow feels threatened by him? Why? Hayes isn’t Keith Olbermann and Carlson isn’t Bill O’Reilly, two men fighting over petty shit (although Keith’s bromides were hilarious “I still own your head, Bill”), so why take shots at Hayes? Also, since upwards of 60% of men wear glasses and most will after 55, Carlson seems to be on the wrong side of the equation when it comes to eyewear. But I think the answer is simple. Carlson feels threatened by a changing America and planet. He sees nothing good coming down the pike and can’t wrap his head around it. Reality is still reality and Carlson and his ilk can’t face it.
